There are beer enthusiasts who are deeply enriched in the beer making world, who own their own home breweries and who take advantage of all the benefits. Then, there are beer enthusiasts who have never even thought of making their own. I can’t imagine why a beer enthusiast wouldn’t at least be interested in giving it a try, but I’m going to try to change that now.
There are many benefits to brewing your own beer and I’m going to take it one step at a time. When you are ready to get off this wild ride, take stage coach left and no one will think any less of you for it. But I bet once this journey begins, you will want to ride it until the wheels fall off.
First, brewing your own beer is a way of putting a mark on your own home bar. You can even get online and design yourself a label and then place it on your bottles, glasses and beer taps even. When company comes over, you can have them all try it. It might just become their favorite beer meaning you might just get company more often if that seems like something you would like to have.
Then, you can start marketing your beer to the local bars. Give them a taste and see if they like it. There are different ways to make this happen. You can get in touch with a local bar owner and tell them you would like to have a tasting at their bar. You offer some of your beer for free and then when people say they like the taste, the bar owner will most likely want to stock it. Make a thing of it. It’s supposed to be a fun time. So, have fun!
The next logical level is to enter into some beer events. Start locally, but again have fun. Go across the country if you want. The more exposure you get, the more buyers you get. Don’t be surprised when someone approaches you to see if you want a sponsor. Sponsorship can take you to levels you have never imagined. Nationwide distribution. Export. International attention.
By this time of course, you have expanded your enterprise to include so much more than a bucket and a kegerator. You have built your brewery into a high powered system that produces enough beer to satisfy all your orders. You’ve moved your operation to a local location that houses your brewery and invites the neighbors to wander in and have a beer. You’ve had to apply for your beer license so that you can start selling your beer and you’ve had to build a bar so that your neighbors have a comfortable place to sit. You’ve got a sign on the front of your place with your name on it and you’ve been highlighted in the paper as the local beer expert.
With a few different flavors now in your inventory, you can have a seat. Take a breath. You’re finished the first phase of Operation Your Brew. The rest of the ride goes anywhere you want it to go.

If you are like most wine enthusiasts – or even those who enjoy just a casual glass of wine with dinner – purchasing a wine refrigerator makes sense! Anyone who drinks wine knows that the best taste is achieved when the wine is chilled. But chilling and storing your fine wines and champagnes in your home refrigerator isn’t the answer because regular refrigerators simply will not control and temperature and humidity properly. Storing wine in a pantry or closet is not practical either because conditions can fluctuate causing deterioration in the quality of the wine and spoilage. Additionally, wine should be stored on its side so that the cork stays moist, and this type of storage can only be achieved with a specially made wine bottle refrigerator with individual compartments for each bottle.
You might be unfamiliar with wine and want to purchase your first cooler, so let’s take a minute to discuss ideal storage temperatures for wine. The ideal storage temperature for storing wines is 55 to 58 degrees Fahrenheit. Optimum serving temperatures do vary a bit depending upon the type of wine: champagne and other sparkling wines 53-57 degrees F; light red wine 54-57 degrees F; rich red and full-bodied vintages 59-68 degrees F; light red wine 54-57 degrees F. As you choose your refrigerator, take into account these ideal storage temperatures and your unique wine preferences so you can pick out a cooler that is best for you.
We must also consider humidity when selecting a wine fridge. For maintaining the best taste for wine, humidity levels of approximately 70% RH are optimal. When stored at this humidity level, the cork will stay moist and oxygen is unlikely to seep into the bottle which can result in spoilage. Wine refrigerators are able to maintain a consistent humidity level which will properly store your wine collection.
Last but not least, another factor you must consider when choosing your wine refrigerator is your budget. If your budget is limited, consider purchasing a small wine cooler (such as a compact 12-bottle fridge) which is the ideal way to get started if you have only a few bottles you want to store. There are many models to choose from which will provide you years of enjoyment. Of course, if your wine investment/hobby is more serious and your budget is less restrained, you can select a refrigerator that will easily store 200 or more bottles.
The purchase of a wine refrigerator to store and chill your fine wines is a good investment. Anyone who enjoys wine from the small wine collector to the serious hobbyist will be satisfied when their wines are optimally stored.

One of the world’s most popular drinks, and ultimately hobbies in and of itself, happens to be wine. This is a multi-billion dollar industry that draws enthusiasts from all over the world, and there are many different reasons that people are in love with the idea of drinking wine out of both wine goblets and glasses. There are also many preferences people have when drinking their wines.
For one, it’s important that the wine maintains the best temperature possible and storage becomes a factor too. As for some of the best wines around, these are usually enjoyed by connoisseurs, who seem to primarily prefer crystal wine goblets for drinking these wines.
Now what is the goblet, you may ask? This is something that’s been used for the consumption of wine for over 1,600 years. There were no crystal goblets when they came out, as they were generally made of clay, but the evolution of wine goblets has been rather steady and the current versions remain close to their original form.
Anyone having people at their home for a meal will benefit from the presence of wine goblets. Crystal goblets are often the most upscale choice, but using a more traditional goblet gives your party a classic appeal.
A few factors may go into your eventual selection choice, namely price and the overall theme of your table set. Crystal goblets should go well with just about everything, while pewter and silver ones may be reserved for particular sets.
As far as the role of wine goblets, people at dinner parties will appreciate your traditional outlook, as it adds a feeling of festivity to the overall event.
Wine goblets will definitely bring them back to the past, and the festive nature of them all will make the occasion feel special.
With that said, the use of wine goblets will be an intricate piece and a delightful touch at any dinner party or other formal meal in your household. Consider the many options available online, as you can generally get these at affordable prices.

When I saw this wine rack design the other day, I thought how easy it would be to build one for myself.
But, I like sharing DIYs with others and had to figure out how they could enjoy this unique wine rack design without spending a ton of money on it.
And my mind went to town. But, I was in a hurry to share with everyone. I haven’t had time to build one for myself. So, I wrote a Wine Rack Idea article about how it will work. If you can follow the blueprint in the article, you can enjoy a unique wine rack that might look like it cost you a pretty penny. But for those of you who may need clearer instructions and step by step pictures, I would be willing to write a DIY for everyone who wants it.
Let me know, email me at beertaps@aweber.com to receive notification when I get the DIY together. You’ll get a confirmation message from me, Stan Schubridge, and then you’ll stay up to date. And yes, you can unsubscribe at any time so that’s fine to stay on the list until you get the DIY.

There is an ocean of extraordinary wine available today and much of it at cheap prices. Wine making improvements as well as the many new wine growing areas have raised the availability of extraordinary wine at reasonable prices and it’s never been a better moment to be or become a wine drinker.
So, what makes a extraordinary wine? It’s very simple: if you like it, it’s great. If you enjoy it, it’s great. Wine is about enjoyment. Remove (notions|beliefs|impressions of image or popularity or other nonsense.
A few areas have a lot of extraordinary inexpensive wine so try wines from the regions to discover ones that match your personal tastes well. Employees at wine shops can also be outstanding resources since they can impart extraordinary deals, something probably no one at your supermarket will do. Here are a few areas and types of wine to examine: For red wines, malbecs and cabernet sauvignons from Chile and Argentina are extraordinary, affordable, and very widely available.
So are reds from Australia, although they may be too big and daring for some. If you can discover them, I’ve also had terrific Hungarian wines as they are not yet widely obtainable in several regions of the world like the USA. Zinfadels from California are another budget offering that don’t come with a budget taste. And don’t forget to look at Spanish wines, some of my favorites.
For whites, try New Zealand wines, particularly Sauvignon blancs but also chardonnays. Pinot Grigios from Italy are superb and the expensive ones are rarely worth it. The mid priced ones are generally as good or better in my belief! And German Rieslings are savoury, obviously slightly lower in alcohol and calories too. For a slightly sweet sparkling wine that may startle you, try an Italian Moscato d’Asti- simply breath taking, and not at all expensive. This is a partial list. Try dissimilar wines and find out what you like. You are bound to find a lot of inexpensive wines that you really (enjoy|relish|love with just a little effort.

I was talking my friend John and he goes “What shapes do Cuban cigars come in?”. I was not so much surprised at the question but considering John (He knows nothing about Cuban cigars), it was some what a pleasant thing. To me it sounded like John finally decided to dabble into the world of Cuban cigars. Well he was asking the right guy and than I gave him the whole deal on sizes and Cuban cigars.
So I told my friend John that it doesn’t matter. Needless to say, he was surprised because it’s just one of those things right? Cuban cigars shape don’t matter at all. What matters though is what you like. What I truly mean here is what kind of shape is the one that you prefer. Do you like the longer ones or shorter ones? Since they range, everyone can get the size that they can truly relate to.
Some like long cigars because they have that much time on their hands to enjoy them. Some like the short cigars because they like the look of it and the feel of it in their hands. Cuban cigars size really only depends on who you are and what you plan to get from it. If you just like the taste, than any Cuban cigar can make the cut.
If you really want to know the details or the main difference between the cigar sizes, I would say that would be the ring gauge size or the thickness if you may. The thickness of the cigar is also a major part of what people prefer or not. Some people like the thinner espendido style or the thick Robusto style Cuban cigar. I like Robusto but that is just my preference.
Personally, I prefer the Robusto size but I came up to this decision after trying out different Cuban cigars. So my suggestion is try each of them out. Hold them in your hands and see which offers the best draw for you. If it works, stick with it and than work you way into trying out different Cuban cigar models that offer the same size.
